Dinner Events

The NY Chapter Board organizes between 6-8 dinner events over the course of the year during the fall/winter/spring and invite speakers from public agencies and the technical engineering field to present at each event.  Presentations are often eligible for Professional Development Hour (PDH) credit and range from interesting technical accomplishments in the industry to updates on national, state, and local codes and policy changes within the agencies that engineers commonly work with.

The dollar amount and number of each Award/Scholarships varies every year. For more information, please send an email to lmatinek@samschwartz.com

MathCounts Competition

MathCounts is a nationwide mathematics competition for middle school students held on a yearly basis. The competition series is ideal for students who have a talent and passion for math who need to be challenged. Students will engage in an exciting competition against and along other bright and motivated students.

The New York Chapter NYSSPE provides financial support for the Manhattan competition and we have had many Chapter members and friends volunteer on past competition days.  Participation as a volunteer can be a very rewarding experience. For more information, please send an email to abrand@mrce.com
